The short version
God Push has no accounts and no sign-up. We count how many phones open the app each day and nothing more. We show no ads. We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising. The minimum information needed for certain features is processed by the service providers listed below. Your name stays on your own phone. If you choose to give us your email, it is used for one short letter a month and nothing else.
What stays on your device
Your first name, the promises you save, the groups you sort them into and any notes you write in those groups, your theme, and your text-size preference are stored in your browser’s local storage on your own device. They are never uploaded to us. Clearing your browser data, or removing God Push from your home screen and clearing site data, deletes all of it permanently. In the iPhone and Android apps, deleting the app does the same.
Reminders
If you turn on reminders on the website, your browser gives us a push address: a long random web address that lets us deliver the notification. We store it with the time you chose, how often, and your time zone. It holds nothing about who you are, and turning reminders off deletes it.
In the iPhone and Android apps, reminders are scheduled on your phone itself. Nothing about them is sent to us.
What is sent when you ask for a promise
When you ask for a promise, your device sends us the IDs of promises you have already seen, so you do not get repeats. If you allow it, it also sends the feeling you picked and anything you typed into the prayer request box, so your prayer can speak to them. We ask the first time, and you can change your answer in Settings at any time. Your name is never sent. We do not store any of this after your prayer is written.
If you report a prayer, we receive the blessing and prayer exactly as they were written, with a placeholder where your name goes, so we can review them. Nothing else about you is sent.
The services we rely on
An outside AI service writes your blessing and prayer. It receives the Bible verse and, only if you allow it, the feeling you picked and the words you typed. It does not receive your name: the app writes a placeholder and your device fills your name in afterwards.
A voice service creates the spoken audio, and only when you press play. Only the Bible verse and its reference are read aloud, so that is all it receives: never your name, and nothing that identifies you. Because every reader hears the same verse, each recording is made once and kept to play again.
Stripe handles support payments. If you choose to support God Push, you enter your card details on Stripe’s own page and Stripe collects your email to send the receipt. We never see or store your card number.
Apple and Google handle support given inside the iPhone and Android apps. You pay in the App Store or Google Play with your Apple or Google account. We receive no card or account details, and nothing about the purchase is sent to our servers.
Our hosting provider runs the app and keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and reliability.
What we count
Once a day, your phone tells us “the app was opened” using a random code it made up for itself. We keep counts (how many opens, how many different phones this week) and not the codes. Nothing links to your name, and nothing follows you to other sites.
Your email, if you give it
Now and then the app may ask for your email so we can send one short letter a month. You can say no, or “not interested” and it will not ask again. If you give it, we use it for that letter and nothing else; reply “stop” to any letter and it is removed.
Children
God Push is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
Because we hold no account for you, there is no profile to request or delete. Everything personal to you lives on your device and is yours to clear at any time. If you have supported the app financially and want your payment records removed, write to us and we will ask Stripe to delete what it is permitted to delete. Purchases made in the App Store or Google Play are held by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top of this page.
